I could be wrong, but I think Thursday's CLW game is the first half finale. FSL AS break is Friday through Sunday. If so, first half standings go out the window on Monday.

Maybe he'll start hitting. Sometimes players need a line of demarcation from a previous slump...in his head he can say to himself, "Since the injury I am hitting whatever" rather than focusing on the overall stats.

Nice outing for Lively tonight. I don't get how he can be a 2-ish ERA pitcher in AAA with historically a really lopsided W-L percentage and not be able to pitch at least .500 ball in the big leagues. The projection programs from AAA-->MLB are pretty darn accurate, and they show nothing like an ERA jump from 2-->6.

A lot of guys struggle the first time up to the majors, stuff that worked in AAA doesn't work at the next level, so they go back down more focused and improve their mechanics/command/secondary stuff and come back in a year or two.

I think Lively has a solid future as a workhorse back of the rotation starter, but it's unlikely to be in Philly given the depth of starting pitching, Thompson is already in the pen, Anderson is probably headed there, De Los Santos, Irvin, maybe even Leibrandt if he has any kind of velo uptick, then at some point, Kilome, Romero, Suarez. He could be real nice July trade bait, how many teams have a young durable SP with ML experience they can put on the trade block these days?

Do we think that baseball hitters have caught up with Arauz's lack of a fast ball? i looks like AA will be his ceiling. his spot was the one that Sanchez probably would have taken. who is the next one on the list to come up?

He's hit .312 and slugged .429 over that time. But the 2 walks in 77 ABs is still troubling. Moniak was supposed to have good command of the strike zone when he was signed. I hope he will figure that out (again) as he begins to have success.

Thanks for the info. CLW is now only 3 games under .500 after being 10 games under at one point, I believe. Hopefully, they can be a factor for the second half division title even though they may be without Haseley and Sanchez, for reasons of promotion or injury.
