I don't think the west coast GCL teams travel to the east coast, so all their games are within 2 divisions and not 4 in the league.

Looks like a good night for Roman Quinn in the standard, 5-inning appearance for a first rehab game. Base hit, walk, a steal, and 2 runs scored.

Quinn has long been one of my favorite Phils' prospects and I hope he can stay healthy long enough to be an asset to the big club later this season. I really do think his skill set (on-base skills, speed, defensive versatility) can potentially add a lot to the Phils' bench by September, if not sooner.

I think the Phillies will give Quinn a shot on the bench sooner rather than later. He started a couple games at SS in spring training so he provides the versatility that the Phillies now want on the bench plus he will be the fastest player on the roster when he is called up. He is also a switch hitter.

Sure you could just swap him for Plouffe if not Valentin. As has been said more than a few times, better get him his time before he breaks again. But that being the case you can't plan the stretch run around him.

More BBs than Ks is interesting. Not quite the pattern of last year where he picked it up in June, but hopefully it just takes him a half year to adjust to a level. Still needs to show power though. Remember he is in Reading. Probably would be a good thing for him if he repeats next year even if he finishes strongly.

If you watch him hit, he has power- he gets some good carry on ball the opposite way. I guess it's just his hitting style that doesn't fully tap into what he has. Granted, it's not great power, but it should be a 15-20 a year type.

If he can do that then getting close to a .300 hitter with a high OBP holds some value. He's still a young man so he has some time.
