All star game performances:

AAA (IL lost to the PCL 12-7) -- Cole Irvin started for the IL and pitched a scoreless first inning. Joey Meneses went 2/3 with 2 singles.

Eastern League performances were mixed (Eastern Division tied the West 4-4) -- Deivi Grullon and Jan Hernandez both homered (Grullon won the HR Derby, too!) Zach Green was 0/2 and Edgar Garcia, who has been struggling lately for the Fightins, gave up 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning.

Side note on Garcia: He gave up 1 run in nine appearances in April, 1 run in 10 appearances in May, and has been hammered to the tune of a 7-ish ERA in June and July. Wonder if he's hurt?

Zoellner probably needs to move to WMPT. Way too old for a successful player in GCL. I'm very encouraged by Torres, especially. Only 18, and a pretty high bonus signing. Wonder how he is in the field?

Jake Holmes is really dominating. Power, average, low K rate, decent BB rate. He is repeating GCL so he should be doing well, but it is definitely a good sign (as with Pelletier last year). DJ Stewart is also doing similar things. Our short season 3B pipeline (Bohm, Holmes, Stewart) is definitely looking good at this point. Hopefully Bohm can jump to Clearwater so either Holmes or Stewart might get some time in Lakewood next season.

Regarding Haseley's promotion, some have implied he didn't earn it. Here are the numbers:

Haseley's last 10 games at CLW:

AB- 39 R- 7 H- 12 HR-2 RBI-3 BB- 4 K-7 BA- .308 OBP - .372 SLG- .513

In his 5 games before that he was 8/20 with 2 more walks and 2 triples. That gives him a slash line of 339/400/543 over his last 15 games. That pretty impressive in the large FSL parks.

Accomplished college players drafted high in the first round belong in AA by the time they're through their second pro season.

Most of the short season guys will fall short of top 10. Bohm will be in the top 10. It might be tough to put Morales or Luis Garcia there though on such limited experience. Top 30 could have 10 short season guys though. Possibles by level:

Williamsport: Guzman, Gonzalez, Pelletier, Marchan, Morales, Silva, Lindow
GCL: Torres, Holmes, Garcia, O'Hoppe, Stewart, Santos, Pipkin, Vargas (ignore the stats) might all be considered.

Maybe even a couple more if they are toolsy but have lesser performances. Vierling is probably top 30 too at Lakewood though not top 10 consideration.
