Ortiz starting to get that power hitter home/road Lakewood split. 620/825 now. Some of this was luck with home games in cold weather early - then getting hurt. Clearly he enjoys the current road trip. Not that this is a problem. Road OPS is probably a fair indicator of what kind of year he can have and if he is having an 800 OPS year at age 19 then that is not too bad.

Haseley now has a 13-game hit streak. He's hit safely in 26 of his last 27 and he also has a 28-game on base streak. His average is up to .297.

Hopefully the power comes when he moves on to Reading.

I sure hope that Haseley does continue to hit and progress to become at least a competent or better major league player. If Moniak also progresses to at least the that level, it will be great as well. Clearly it was not just Phillies' scouts who thought these two were first round talent, so it surely is possible that they turn out to be just that.

FSL All-Star break is this weekend. Is it possible that Haseley gets promoted to start next week? REA starts a nine game homestand next Monday. Could be a good way to get him acclimated.

Given his career stats, I want to see good performance over a longer period of time. I remember that Hewitt always had a good 1-2 week period every year and that when this happened it invariably brought a cascade of posts about the light bulb going on. It was just extreme SSS,
