Pujols with another HR! I know he is no longer considered a serious prospect, but he is having a good season.

A clunker for De Los Santos today. FB was up to 94 mph, but control just wasn't adequate, especially on breaking pitches. Mitch Walding really has awful range at 3B. De Los Santos would have saved himself 5 runs had he cleanly caught a come-backer for a DP. Still, a huge number of pitches in 2nd and 3rd innings killed him.

Pujols is a serious prospect, up to now he was a disappointment, but the raw skills were there, size, strength, arm, decent speed. But he struggled to make contact and had a ridiculous K rate.
This year he's being a bit more patient, the K rate is still a bit high, the BABIP is unsustainable, at .422, though some of that may be better contact (he's been at .320 for most of his minor league career).
Give a more normal BABIP, he's more like a .260/.320/.460/.780 slash which is still solid for a 22 year old in high A+.

Logan Moore the only Iron Pigs pitcher to not give up a run today, pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
I guess the Clippers were just worn out from pounding out all those hits and runs earlier in the game.

Cozens 3 for 5 with a couple doubles, Walding 2 for 4 with a double.

While his results have improved markedly this year, I haven't seen Pujols included in any top 30 prospect lists. I have seen this scout report which expresses serious doubts about his hit tool. I'd like to see this season's improvement carry over into AA before considering him a 'serious' prospect.

I think those of us who follow the minors would have Pujols in our top 30. The system is weak in the OF from top to bottom, so that boosts his value a little. In AAA/AA/A+ the only players I see as even possibly being ahead of him are De Los Santos, Irvin, Quinn (possibly not prospect-eligible due to MLB time), Cozens, Walding, Suarez, Anderson, Haseley, Listi (age?), Grullon, Hernandez, Randolph, Hall, Romero, EdGarcia, Gilbert, Dohy, Sixto, Williams, Gamboa, Moniak, Medina, Seabold (based mostly on pedigree), and Mills. He's probably about 15th on that list of 25. It's going to be hard to find 15 or so guys at lower levels to be ahead of him.

Haseley continues to level off after his blistering pace of earlier this month, 3 hits in his last 19 AB, 1 BB, 5 K, only 1 EBH, that being a double in his last five games. During this stretch (admittedly a very SSS), he's looked more like the player we saw in early April.
