Yeah, things are bad everywhere. Lots of little things were all "off" at the game. The grounds crew used to do a dance after grooming the infield when they came out--that was gone. No t-shirt cannon. No after-game tennis ball contest. Did not make me want to return in the fall. And I agree, this kind of thing is rampant, but there are businesses who are coping (and thriving). Our local ice-cream parlor was having supply chain issues and just invented new flavors (great ones) and started making their own cones. The kids they hire are great to all the customers and seemingly always in a good mood. The local shop-rite has gotten better and it seems to keep almost everything well-stocked, while the local Giant, which used to be a far better place to shop, is running out of everything (stuff that is overflowing at shop-rite). Local McDonalds used to have edible hamburgers, now the rolls taste like plasticizer. Local Chick-fil-A is super-crowded and the food is great. People at McDonalds are dismissive and rude, people working at Chick-fil-A could not be any nicer. My guess is good management versus bad.
On to the game--Seranthony was dominating, the AAA hitters he faced walked back to the dugout shaking their heads in disbelief. Vince V was really good, too, but got himself in trouble in the third inning by walking two banjo hitters instead of just firing fastballs at the middle of the plate when he got behind. Only Haseley and Moniak had anything "pop" off of their bats (although a couple of their well-hit balls were foul). Lots of seeing-eye hits for both teams.
