Went to SWB RailRiders game tonight. Free tickets.Very strange experience. Apparently game was supposed to be in Durham, but switched at last minute because of Florence. Stadium wasn't even 10% full. SWB batted first as they weren't the home team. Beautiful night for baseball.

I don't think it was a last minute switch. I saw something on the news days ago about all 5 games being played up north. It was during an interview the local tv had with a local player coming home to play (he plays with Durham).

That's still kind of last-minute (I believe it was announced Tuesday). You'd think they'd have done more walk-up for a decisive Friday game (albeit only for Durham) but without season ticketholders (some of whom don't buy playof ticket packages to begin with) or group sales that's what happens in the minors.

Which is surely another reason why nobody sweats call-ups during the playoffs, you're not cheating "the fans" if the fans have stopped coming to the games. Pigs averaged more than 8,000 during the regular season and had less than 4,000 at Game 5. Scranton only had 1500 and 900 fans at their games against the Pigs.

I was looking forward to attending at least one AAA championship games being played here in Durham. I'm disappointed that they moved the entire series to SWB but it only makes sense. Go Bulls!

Congrats to the Bulls for defeating SWB in game 5 to become the International League champs for the second year in a row. Scranton native Joe McCarthy provided most of the offense for the Bulls, including a first inning HR.

It really is tremendous and,to my knowledge, the only one of its kind (he bot i mean) amongst the Phillies phan sites. It’s probably more than 50% of my engagement on the site during the season.
