Pedro Beato is a pretty erratic AAA closer--gives up some of the worst losses I've ever seen.

A lot of guys are starting to hit, even Williams.
Makes me think that maybe they were working on things with a lot of players to start the season, and the lessons have gradually sunk in.

Jones did not pitch 3 scoreless innings. He gave up 2 ER on 6 hits, including 2 HRs and threw, I forget -- I think it was 76 pitches. I went back and checked -- it was 70 pitches, still a lot for 3 IP. At least he had no BBs and 6 Ks.

Aaron Brown has had a couple terrible meltdowns including one Saturday night. I wonder why they took Tols out with 2 outs in the 9th, and put Brown in just in time to lose the game.

Tols is a body, Brown has talent, but this is his last shot given his age, so they're giving him a chance to sink or swim.
Given the depth at RP in the system, not going to lose sleep over his drowning.

Brown is probably getting to the end of the road, at least for his conversion to pitching. I doubt going back to the offensive side will save him, though.
