Water in Gulf is screaming hot- Hot leads to big storms. Storms all over Southern Coast for next few days. Time to move that league to Arizona or build domes!

Muzziotti with 2 more hits and a walk today in game 1. Got to think he's going to climb some in the offseason prospect rankings. Hopefully there's a little pop to come as he ages.

Glogoski with another solid outing as well. 1.84 ERA across 20 starts at two A ball stops. Very interested to see how he does in AA.

Muzziotti has 20 doubles this year, a respectable number for a leadoff hitter. He's walking almost enough (a little less than 1 BB/10 AB). OPS only .720, but not bad for the FSL at his age. A bit more power and patience, and we have a strong CF candidate.

Moniak's 12 triples are 3 more than anyone in the majors. Pretty impressive. especially since I don't think he is rated plus,plus on speed.

Simmons is grossly underrated, 1.303 OPS in August. His SSS keeps increasing.
And Stephen in Reading is outhitting Moniak at the same age.

Not quite the same age...Stephen, with a September birthday, is 9 months older. Still, quite an impressive break-out year for him.

As a LF, Stephen is probably going to need to out-hit Moniak by more than he is to be a MLB player.

Rosso, Parkinson, and the Lakewood and WMPT staffs with great pitching tonight. Vargas much better in his second NYPL start, but walked too many. Simmons with a big game , 2/5 with a 3B and a HR, back in the lineup after a few days off. Rojas with a HR. Stott, Simmons, O'Hoppe, and Corbin Williams named NYPL all-stars. WMPT Is my favorite team to follow right now after being a disaster in June.

I'm down here in Clearwater now, might catch a GCL game before I leave town.

It's a stalled front that's causing all the clouds and rain here now. It's still cloudy today but very little rain since about 2:00-3:00 PM yesterday; as a result, they were able to get the Threshers' DH in starting at 4:00 PM yesterday.

The change of scenery makes for a nice vacation but it'd be nice to have a decent beach/pool day or two here soon!

He's not grossly underrated. He's showing a nice improvement based on less than 100 AB's.

You can't pick and choose SS based on your history of underrating players at this level while focusing on the play of 26 year olds.

When a 19 year old in a pitcher's park starts raking, even in a SSS, that should open eyes.
If you don't want to look at his hot month, then how about .971 OPS in 39 games?
I mean Gamboa and Brito, who doesn't approach Simmons tool kit, are rated far above him.

There were some questions about his hit tool, but I think he's answering them:

"Simmons has some approach and swing issues, but shown signs of improvement over the GCL season. Simmons is not a super athletic shortstop, but he has loud tools, starting with his power and arm. In his start to pro-ball he went 3-27 with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts. After that he hit .279/.395/.500 with 8 walks to 20 strikeouts in 81 PAs. If he can hit enough to get to his power, Simmons could be a power hitting, good glove third baseman. If he can stick at shortstop, his upside is immense."

Simmons struggled in the GCL because he hadn't seen top level pitching in HS, then adjusted, struggled in Williamsport, then adjusted with a bang. See a trend here?

It does open eyes.

It's still a SSS and not anywhere near enough information to make any absolute statements.

If it continues he'll be appropriately rated.
