i think the starters were all pushed back one day. Anderson was supposed to go yesterday but Eichoff had a rehab start. that pushed anderson to tonight and he didn't do too badly. i would think De Los Santos will go tomorrow night weather permitting.

Lakewood and, really, most of the rest of the Sally League is genuinely a pitcher's haven.

HR by Maton to win it for Lakewood. He is quietly having a very nice year. Age 21 all year so he is still youngish for the level and a 778 OPS from a middle infielder is not bad in that park.

They're going to have trouble playing much baseball in Florida this week. Maybe they can sneak a couple games in before the weekend. But then, it looks like a tropical system will cause problems down there.

What is also a good sign is that he is playing shortstop for the most part over Dalton Guthrie who supposedly had a decent defensive reputation. That they see Maton as a shortstop is good for his chances even if those chances are more of a middle infield utility guy. He is also big enough where seeing some power is not a huge surprise.

It's a little bit of a surprise- he's got a pretty narrow frame. Looks like he has the tools to succeed in the minors and become a utility type in the big leagues. Unfortunately, that passes as excitement for Phillies minor league position players this year. It's a startling decline in position player talent.
