Not today, though Mathison added to Ferrebus and Perez should give them some offense. A little surprised they have not kicked Burkholder down too. Mathison was a disappointment at Clearwater unfortunately.

Excited to see Painter tonight for LHV. Maybe the Walker 3-inning stint is giving Thomson some ideas about 3-inning relief stints.

Matheson was striking out in 50% of his at bats.

Impressed with Kody Shohinaga - not much power there but makes contact and has good eye at the plate.

Great pitching lines so far tonight from Painter, Cabrera and McFarlane

Painter averaged 96- he commanded his pitches much better which made his fastball look better…until the third when he walked three straight with 2 outs and could have walked in a run if not for the batter chasing 2 straight out of the zone with 3 balls.

He looked good/- he handled Roman Anthony and Meyer, though Meyer put up some good swings.

McFarlane’s stuff looked significantly better than it had been- he came out throwing 96-97 (he had been 94-95), that made his slider look better and he had really good command. The announcer called a few of his pitches splitters, which weren’t really good, but that would be pretty awesome if he can add that to his repertoire..
