Second start is in the books for Bailey Falter. 3 innings, 2 hits and 5 Ks for the @IronPigs . Two appearances overall for Falter, 5.1 ip; 2 h; 10 K

Stott did seem to correct himself quickly so I could easily see him recalled for Vierling or Quinn. It was stupid to bury him after the 5 strikeout game.

Some interesting random things on the farm. Mark Appel very good for LHV in addition to Falter. Erik Miller and Francisco Morales solid again in AA. Morales needs to be at AAA pretty quickly. Would not be shocked if he is closing for the big club by the end of the year.

Down in Clearwater Carlos Betancourt made a nice season debut. He pitches so rarely but usually pretty well. And Yhoswar Garcia has 19 SB and only 15 hits on the year. Walk rate has been decent (11 so far) but the main point is he steals basically every time he gets on base. I just never know how valuable that is in today's game, though if paired with good CF defense it is at least something to work on even if the hit tool is never great.

He needs to play though. So long as Camargo and Didi are both here and the manager also doesn't sit Didi enough, seems unlikely he'll figure out a way to get him in the line-up.

They should not call Stott back up to the big league team until they are ready to start him regularly. He needs to start at least 5 games per week. Otherwise, let him in AAA.

Appel’s stuff in this game looked like the guy who was a number 1 pick. 96-97 with downward drive and a nasty slider. Granted, he’s looked like this before one start and then captain mediocre the next. If he strings a few more of these outings together he’s going to see the big leagues soon.
