Kingery's rehab not off to great start. 3 for 21 with 8 Ks.

Technically his rehab is over. What's happening now is the time at AAA he was supposed to get after his removal from the 40, and it wasn't necessarily meant to be short (he was DFAed on June 8 last year so they were probably thinking August, if at all). Not sure the 23 games and .599 OPS last year even count.

And unfortunately sometimes a player needs a half-season or even full season to really find his groove again after surgery and a big injury. Plus in Kingery's case the groove was already gone, dating back to late 2019. And technically he never got enough time in AAA when he was a rookie!

I hope he forces his way back onto the 40 but many miles to go.

More impressive than Yhoswar's 3 SB today is that Darick Hall had 2 SB (giving him 2 on the year). He's having a very nice year in AAA thus far, already equaled last year's HR total and a very nice OPS.

Nice to see a Rojas HR. He's had a most disappointing year, thus far. I was expecting/hoping for a breakout year from Rojas.

Under the radar, Konnor Ash - 10 BF, 8 K. 23 year old FA in 2021 (only 20 rounds). FB, curve, changeup.

Ash has now pitched a little over 10 IP with a 51.3% K percentage. At his age they should bump him up and see if it continuers.

Ash is more a pitchability type. Fastball sitting in the 92-93 range but can touch the mid-90s. A right-handed version of the Cole Irvin profile. Should move quickly at his age if he is going to become a prospect.

As expected, O'Hoppe player of the week:

Irvin was left handed and had very well developed secondary pitches and good control. The hill is higher for an Ash even if he has the same raw stuff being right-handed and without much of a track record on control.
