Muzziotti off to a nice start. 2-2, BB, SB so far. Kingery with a HR too. 3-3 tie.

Iron Pigs win in ten innings, 8-7. Garcia with a home run in the ninth tied the game. Machin hit a two run homer in the top of the tenth that provided the margin of victory.

Probably no need for daily threads until Friday when the other affiliates start. Yesterday's LHV was cancelled because of bad weather. Note we are back to those 6-game home/road series now that started with the pandemic. I was hoping they would get away from these. A more normal set of 3-game series is better IMO than facing one team the entire week.

One note here is that extended Spring games start on 4/18. Here is hoping that Noah Song can pitch in some of them before his 30-day rehab clock starts.

Note we are back to those 6-game home/road series now that started with the pandemic. I was hoping they would get away from these. A more normal set of 3-game series is better IMO than facing one team the entire week.

I too hate 6 game series, but my thinking is that it saves MLB money so of course they will do it. As a season ticket holder I hate as I see less teams and if the teams have bad blood it flares up more quickly. Plus it ruins road trips as you can’t see different teams at the same location in one week. Anyway just my two cents.

Yup of course they aren't going to go back to paying for more road trips. Note also that the Iron Pigs game won't be made up.

While the first series was only 3 games, one of the consequences of the 6-game series is that in most leagues you only see other teams once. In larger leagues you may not see some teams the entire year.

I just don't see the travel expense as that much, especially if there are regional divisions that play more often.

They aren't that much! But we've seen what MLB thinks about that. And if the independent team owners are footing those bills when MLB has passed so many other expenses onto them, even more reason.

Sorry to disagree here, but I enjoy the six-game series. Gives you a chance to get familiar with the opposition players you might not know.

I reckon the preferences of the fans (or even the the teams) either way matter not at all. To the development staff, they are all exhibition games. And really in terms of the business model the fans who actually do care about baseball stuff don't pay the bills either. They sell tickets with group sales and promotions, not the opponent. And the Tue-Thur games won't sell as well as Fri-Sun regardless so may as well have each visitor get both.
