I don't think anybody really wants to trade him but that would also be the reason why you trade him. Nobody wants to trade him for a poor return.

I think Greensboro is a hitters park because I have this recollectionn of the BlueClaws putting up some numbers there before. But Crawford has 4 hits including a double and a homer. Boyd has 3 hits and a homer. Bergolla has 5 hits including a double

Greensboro is excellent for left handed power hitters. Remember many a Stanton and Yelich homer runs when they were Marlin prospects. Sorry I missed this power display when I was there in Tuesday.

Bergolla and Caba will probably go as far as nutrition and weight lifting takes them, that is, both are good contact hitters with a good batting eye. Caba might be the more talented hitter, but in both cases, they need to develop at least alley power to be credible ML hitters.

Brito is another, really small when he was signed, has developed a littlle pop and is improving as a hitter.

Caba's edge is as a plus defensive SS, anything over .700 OPS makes him a solid ML starter.

No, they will go as far as their baseball skill, tools, and work ethic take them. Stop with the undernourished stereotype. These are not poor starving kids. They were just signed at a younger age than US draftees. Bergolla's the son of a major leaguer after all. Not a big money major leaguer but not poverty either.

They are both undersized and lack pop. Doesn't matter why they were when signed, just that they need to add strength to hit at the ML level.

Lots of HS-age hitters will only advance if they get bigger and add power, at least that is the way most baseball player-development people see them. Look at Mickey Moniak for a recent, local example. They changed his swing and put him on a really intense lifting program so he could elevate the ball out of the park. His main problem as a hitter seems to be controlling the strike zone, though, which is not affected by strength. I wonder if we might be better expending more effort on pitch recognition and zone control rather than physical development, which often comes naturally. Just an idea....

They are not undersized though. They are just 18 an 19 year old kids. It is the stereotype that is wrong here. All HS kids generally need to put on some weight to add power. Aidan Miller needs it a bit less, but remember he is almost 20. Let's just analyze these kids strengths and weaknesses without trying to overlay inaccurate perceptions on them. The biggest difference is really the quality of instruction they get and the resources (like Driveline) that are much more available to U.S. kids (but even that is changing).

Bergolla needs power because he is only average on defense and is really not that fast as well. It is just a hitting profile that probably does not work if he doesn't add power. It is just hard to be Luis Arraez. Caba is just young, but he has better defensive tools and much more speed so there are a lot more ways for him to have success.

We've signed full sized LA hitters, just like we had a SS who was a shrimp (Bowa).

It's not like they need to muscle up to average 100+ exit velocity, just enough power to consistently drive the ball down the alleys and keep OFs honest. Heck, Rojas, who could use a Charles Atlas class, had a exit velo of 103 yesterday.
