I probably would wait until Saturday to start re-scheduling the minor league double-headers. Even if they can play at Jersey Shore today it might not be the greatest thing for fans and players to be out there for 5 hours.

This is not outfield defense, I don't think you can use the eye test. AQI data says it's still over 200 up there.

It's supposed to hover around 150 eventually and then it becomes a little bit of a debate I guess.

I was at a banquet last night with 8 people at our table. Five of us opened our weather apps and the AQI readings in Bethlehem at the time were 115, 237, 343, 365, and 520(!!!). I think AQI just isn't that scientific.

For sure lots of variables depending on the sensors and the wind at any given moment. And also whether you are using private data (accuweather contracts out for it) or government data. It's the same thing with noise readings, at a concert (or a World Series game) the db meter might swing between 80 and 120 over the course of the event but you are still getting sustained exposure to the upper ranges in those hours.

Around here the days start not bad, then the hammer falls in the afternoon. By late afternoon yesterday we had visibility down to 0,5 miles, total stench, and the worst air quality in the nation. The thick smoke makes the sky a darkish grey all day, with an orangish Sun, but it takes a while for the smoke to descend to ground level.

Enrique Segura debut stateside in FCL. Gave up a HR in his first inning unfortunately. He was the top pitcher signing in our 2022 international class (though for only $80K) and has been listed at the bottom of some of our top 30s.

Allentown, I thought you might like to see this photo taken from South Mountain in Bethlehem last night at 6:30 or so. Guess what the red dot is...?

Yeah, I took a similar picture. Last night was actually great air compared to 6:30 the prior day. This was a truly horrible several days of air quality.
