Last week's recap:
The better prospects are hitting down in complex ball today. Alirio Ferrebus (not one of the top prospects) looks like he got caught up in a catcher's numbers game and did not get promoted after putting up a close to 900 OPS last year in the DSL as a 17-year-old.
Jalvin Arias with his first Pro HR.
Will be at Greensboro tonight for a bit of BlueClaw action ️️
He decided to make things obvious...his post game-1 OPS is 4750!! 2 HRs and a walk in 3 PAs.
Caba filling up the stat sheet without an extra base hit. 3-3, 4 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 3 SB.
You missed a SF in his 4th plate appearance. Without that he'd have a 5000 OPS.
Good catch! Should of homered in that AB, too, but he didn't want to make it too obvious...
Ferrebus had quite a few big games in dsl spring training too as I recall. Between Tait, Ferrebus and Rosario, that’s an interesting trio of teen catchers to watch as the season plays out.
You need to add Navas (2-3 today and everyone is raving about him) and Mujica (the "bum" went 0-4 in his first game but did get $700K to sign) to the list of teen catching prospects.
And on top of all that, Francisco Lorreto started at catcher for the dsl white team at age 16. That has to mean something too. Before Tait I do t recall them ever starting a catcher so young.
Nava (not Navas) is also hitting well, bonus baby who struggled last year but seems to have turned it around.Lee Sang is flying under the radar in Reading, but hitting well after an awful start.
