It would be but there's no real reason to do it. You still have a guy who can be moved through waivers indefinitely in an emergency. Or included in a blockbuster trade, like when we took Matt Harrison's salary from the Rangers in the Hamels deal.
Not saying he'll turn it around but the first year back after injuries and surgery can often be rough, and he didn't even have a proper spring training this year. Of course it's also possible he will physically never be the same, between COVID and multiple injuries, and adjustment/development isn't the issue.
