The K rate is a little worrying, though to be fair it has gotten much better of late. I'd also save a little room for the Jadiel Sanchez bandwagon. HR last night and he has quietly handled the Clearwater promotion (as unfortunately Yhoswar Garcia and Johan Rojas are both hurt).

Also, Abel starting tonight. Looks like last week's early exit was just a precaution.

I don't think Abel is 100 percent and I would like them to get him out of the game

Mick Abel has thrown 50 pitches in two innings, only 22 for strikes. His velocity is good, sitting 95-96, touching 97 once. He has gotten just 6 strikes on the 17 offspeed pitches he's thrown. His lack of control and 4 walks lead me to believe he isn't 100%. Trailing 2-0

Abel is done after 79 pitches. He went 3.1 innings, 4 runs, 3 hits, 5 walks, 3 K. 39 strike just under a 50% strike rate. Reliever allowed 2 runners to score. 3 of his 5 walks scored. New strike zone 2" inches wider on each side and lower at the top didn't appear to be a factor.

A pitcher trying to pitch to a new strike zone? That could be a real factor IMO. The Phillies would not let him throw 79 pitches if there was any question at all about his mechanics or health.
