Jadiel Sanchez who has led off early on for FCL is up with Clearwater today. FCL is off, so this is likely temporary. Unfortunately might be related to a Yhoswar Garcia injury who left the last game early though apparently is not on the IL.

Sanchez is an interesting player who was our 12th round pick out of Puerto Rico in 2019. Signed overslot for $300K. Did not do much at age 18 in GCL, but held his own last winter in the Puerto Rican Winter league on a young prospect team (RA 12) that was usually overmatched in games. OF with some size and speed. He'll probably go back to FCL, but he is part of our quest to get better athletes in the OF lately (along with Rojas and Garcia and Yemal Flores)

Santos with a good nights for Reading. At 20 is he a decent prospect? Looks like he has moved up and dome well at every level.

He’s a command 92-93 guy with a decent breaking ball. Not much swing and miss. He’s got some aptitude to be able to be in AA and pitching well, but he needs his stuff to evolve a bit more to become interesting.

A right-handed Ranger Suarez? Modest stuff but very good control. We'll learn more about the command in the upper minors. Younger pitchers like Santos that throw strikes and mix speeds can move quickly through the lower minors. Another plus is that he seems pretty durable and consistent, some of which may come from needed fewer pitches per inning than his harder throwing peers.
