I'll throw the question in here because the draft threads will get crowded, but has anyone decided if new draftees could play this year? When they moved the draft back and did not move the FCL back I was just assuming that they would not. The 180-player domestic limit could clearly be an issue too. But is it possible for draftees to play this year if they sign 2021 contracts? Or will they just sign 2022 contracts as a matter of course and start the rule 5 clock later.
Just curious as I think I would want Painter to make Clearwater next year like Abel. 10-15 innings at FCL would not be the worst thing to happen if that were the plan.
