Small note - the DSL starts Saturday with 1 game then typically they are off Sunday and playing on a Monday-Saturday schedule. The Cardinals have posted their transactions on the Milb site for new rosters but the Phillies have not done so yet. Assume they will do that later today or by tomorrow. My guess is there will be few new signees other than Starlyn Castillo that go straight to GCL this year.

Red roster appears to be up...lots of older players w/ birthdates in 2000 or before.

The DSL rosters have been full for months. The open question is whether these are the rosters they're going to open the season with, or whether they're just pretty much what the rosters looked like last August. What typically seems to happen is that milb.com adds players to the rosters, and notes those as transactions on the transactions page. Other player names just "disappear" - often never to be seen again. They may or may not list DSL releases.

As andyb noted, milb.com has started to post roster changes on their DSL transactions page... but I frankly don't expect to "know" what the two DSL rosters look like until they actually start play. Both clubs have 10:30 am starts scheduled tomorrow, so we'll know soon.

UPDATE: So I just looked at the DSL Red roster, and it's substantially different than it was yesterday - includes guys who were on the DSL White roster all winter, as well as at least some recent signees who've never appeared on a DSL roster before... so I think PC's comment looks correct. Assuming these stabilize, I'll add columns to the table I'll be posting in the June ml transactions thread tomorrow.

Looks like they are updating now. We should see more 2002 birthdays or late 2001. Joalbert Angulo who was one of our top signees after Starlyn Castillo is now on the Red roster. MIguel Tejeda is also on red, listed as a CF!

White seems to be down now so they are updating. Names to look for include Fernando Ortega and Alexis Azuaje (fast, undersized SS).

Edit - On Castillo, Jim at PhuturePhilles was watching him throw a few innings in the complex yesterday, so he seems set for GCL or even Williamsport.

Yes, it's clearly in progress. As of now, there are a couple of players (IF/OF) that appear on both rosters - my guess is they've been added to the Red roster, which looks about complete, but not deleted yet from White - which is still pretty much the winter listing, less some deletions that are now on Red.

I'll post a list of names that have been removed once things settle down.

Update: First batch of transactions (DSL Red) are now posted in the May Minor League Transactions thread, top post. This list does not include any releases.
