I would argue that you cannot assume that from this writeup. The writer saw Bohm play three games, and he was not at 3B in any of them. But in total for Lakewood this spring, Bohm started at 3B 14 times, at 1B five times, and at DH three times. He's started two games for Clearwater, both at 3B. The writer didn't see him play 3B, so made no comment about his play at 3B.

Looking at body type with a mind towards mlb history- Bohm might play some third in the bigs, but eventually he’ll be a Richie Saxson-like 1b/Of, and it really won’t matter. Whatever Bohm is, is because he’ll hit.

In my mind, it’s a bottom 10 farm. Until the short season leagues start the only way to be happy is to pick 5 guys who had a good to decent day and be happy with that. That’s basically acknowledging the rebuild by farm was an 80% failure, but you take what you can get. Money can hide a lot of problems.

Whatever Bohm is, is because he’ll hit.

Which means he could also fail, no? My recollection is his bat didn't profile as a no-brainer 1B/LF/DH caliber weapon, which is why his ability to remain at 3B was important. And the Phillies believed he could do so when they drafted him.

Will he be better than Franco, who probably wouldn't be around if he couldn't play 3B, for instance? As good as Burrell? A better fielder than Hoskins? Obviously we don't know yet so I'm not inclined to worry but the ceiling has to be a lot higher if they take away his 3B glove.

Deivy Grullon is now hitting .400 through Early May. Nice start for him, his offensive improvement last season may have been real, although his power is off a bit. Kyle Dohy had a nice AAA outing, 1 IP, 3K, as did Tyler Gilbert with 3 Ks in 2 IP. Clearwater managed to turn 10 hits into 1 run somehow. Muzziotti was 3/5, Brito was 3/4. Tom Eshelman is confirmed as broken--now has an 8-ish ERA in AA ball.
