We do seem to be a bit below average age at GCL so far. DSL too. So the extra affiliate has not contributed to a huge number of overage players in GCL. With 2 age appropriate affiliates I'd be happy if they came close to .500 cumulatively this year.

Were your wisdom teeth impacted? Did you have them surgically removed, as opposed to being extracted? You said you had them "pulled," which leads me to thing they were not impacted.

My post was meant to be sarcastic. If it fell flat, I apologize. I was just disappointed he wasn't playing tonight...especially after I saw Clearwater's offensive output (segway back to baseball...)

I had mine out a lot longer ago than that.... three of the four. Not impacted; extracted, because they had de-calcified. One of them crumbled while being extracted...little pieces of it took the next year or so to work themselves out - everything would heal, then a little fragment would poke through; fortunately, not a major problem, just some discomfort for a day or so.

My kids have had impacted wisdom teeth. An oral surgeon puts them under some form of anesthetic, surgically removes the teeth from the gum/jaw, sutures up the incisions. It took 'em a while to bounce back - it's long enough ago that I don't remember precisely how long, but it was longer than extractions would have taken. Probably, this was due to the anesthetic, as much as the surgery; it can be tough to really throw that off.

I actually had mine come out when I was in the military, so I had them taken out at the dental clinic at Fort Bragg. They put me under general anesthesia, my first and only time ever under GA. I didn't have any impacted but if I recall correctly, they said one had grown in crooked enough that they had to basically crack it in half to pull it out. They gave me some Percocets, I took them for maybe a day. Didn't have much pain since the holes where the teeth were just filled themselves in and I didn't need sutures in the jaw.

Moniak reportedly took BP yesterday (per Phuturephillies), so I'm sure he'll be back soon. It's reasonable to give him the time to heal, regain some strength and get a couple days of BP in. Hopefully that really was the cause of the headaches he was having. Migraines (which I have no experience with) are no joke.

Amen to this - because if the teeth weren't the cause, and he still has migraines, that could really impact his career prospects. They can be quite debilitating.

And Hall in front of him. Reading lineup all of a sudden is looking pretty potent. I find myself interested in following Hernandez, Green, Hall, Sandberg, Grullon, and Listi. That's 2/3 of the guys who are playing on a given night.
