A new favorite to follow is outfielder Mani Boekhoudt from the Netherlands. A 4-4 performance today for the DSL Phillies White team is even more impressive when you consider the acclimation process he is going through, leaving Europe to play in a new land.

Couple of things tend to indicate to me the Phils like him alot. One, he is batting 3rd, Phils system tends to bat guys they like offensively in the 3rd spot and two, Phils are trying him at all the outfield spots [CF now], which probably means they think he is a very good athlete.

Definitely a guy to keep an eye on.

On Will Stewart he had him touching 93 but sitting 88-90. Liked the deception and his change though and said he is at least a prospect but will need to prove himself at each level.

Same basic thoughts on Jhailyn Ortiz. Thought he had really good at bats (better than his stat line suggests) and real power especially to the opposite field. Then the bad body can he stick in the OF comment. Also likes Muzziotti. Great bat speed that will enable him to survive in Low A even if he is not quite ready developmentally.

Mauricio Llovera is one Phils pitching prospect who is definitely a future reliever to me. He seems to always have trouble the second or third time through the order and have that one big, bad inning lead to his demise. I know he also throws very hard so that might play up in the 'pen, too.

Date night with my girlfriend tonight, so I won't see it live, but am I the only one that is really looking forward to seeing Weapon X give his speech tonight? He is as classy and passionate a player as I have ever seen. There wasn't a single game where he didn't give all he had and then a little more.

Just a great guy. Everyone should play like he did.
