At least the team records are getting closer to respectful. We have done this the last few seasons it seems (I think last season was the other way around), started off the first week or two very slowly for some reason and then they really pick it up. I know the minor league records dont mean much, but it is odd how it seems like it is a consistent issue for some reason. Something to do with how we hold/end spring training maybe? Not getting these guys as ready as they should be? Not sure.

It would be very nice if Dalton Guthrie's time in Lakewood is short and he needs to be promoted.

Perhaps the split season format will be a saving grace for LKW and CLW. Two years ago, LKW had a lousy first half but a strong second half which put the 'Claws in the playoffs where they came up a game short of of the SAL title.

Hopefully. I will say that Clearwater was supposed to have lots of top prospects. It was not necessarily supposed to be a great team just because it was so young. It is also top-heavy (Sanchez, Medina, Moniak, Haseley) while it has less mid-level depth of older players like Hall.

With Lakewood expectations should be fairly low. Top prospect (Ortiz) is young. And the next wave of decent LA prospects is going to be at Williamsport. So the Lakewood roster was never great even thought there are some decent prospects there. The rotation should be better when Young gets there. Was also hoping they might give Francisco Morales a shot though it would be perfectly understandable if he went to Williamsport. Can't imagine they want him over 80-100 innings this year anyway so even if he went to Lakewood it might not be till mid-May.
