And he gives up 3 runs in 6 IP and leaves with a big lead. Three solo HRs. Since Squire reported, Allentown with 8 runs on 9 hits, including 2 HRs from Cozens. Nice to see Cozens doing his thing. JoJo gives up 3 ER in 5 IP, with Reading only having 3 hits and one walk through 6 innings of being shut out. Also, 2 HRs for Darick Hall and a very nice start for Mills.

Radio broadcast of the claws game mentioned that Howard was clocked at 95-97 in the first by phillies statcast. Anecdotally, it seemed like he was landing one out of every three sliders in the strike zone.

If Hall keeps hitting, Hoskins may have to do some speed work and become a real LF.
Long way to go, and I want to see better plate discipline, but getting out of Lakewood could allow him to shine.

Hall does not seem to get much love from the prospect evaluators and top prospect lists. They must be seeing things that I am missing, and admittedly they are the experts, but he had a nice year last year in a pitchers park.

College player drafted in the 14th rd, so the assumption is that he's a fluke, like if Listi put up big numbers this year. But Hall was young for his college status, he doesn't turn 22 until July, Hoskins was 3 months older when he started at Lakewood, then was promoted to Clearwater.

Hoskins was a more disciplined hitter, so that's something to watch with Hall, whether he can improve in that area (and whether he can recognize breaking balls).
Hall only played one year of major college ball, so he's a bit behind the curve in terms of experience.

Listi is also from Dallas Baptist, but at 24 he's a real long shot. Played four years there, but didn't take off until his senior season when he seemed to have discovered the strike zone and his BB rate and HRs skyrocketed.
