6 of the 29 players 2021 draftees/UDFAs (all college pitchers) have now played for Clearwater. McGarry (5th round), Ruffcorn (8th) and Baker (11th) are the highest picks. McCollum, McKenney, and Russell from the free agents. Assume we will see more this week though probably not any high school picks like Painter until there are actual FCL games (and it does not look like they are playing today).
Baker had the best debut which shows why he got an overslot deal. Ruffcorn was also pretty good. Each might move quickly if they are seen as high velocity relievers. Would love to see some position players. Wilson, Cerny, and Rumfield would be the highest picks to see (and Rumfield was already playing in the draft league). Christian McGowan is probably the most important college pitcher we have yet to see.
