One-third of all new COVID-19 cases are in Florida, and these numbers (and the percentage of new cases in Florida) are rising - and will continue to rise - because Florida's state government is run by a right-wing authoritarian who's trying to out-Trump Donald Trump. The Low-A Southeast, and the FCL, might just as well cancel the rest of their seasons. They're going to miss more games than they get in.

Realistically, Jersey Shore is the lowest classification the Phils have available. The Florida complex is basically shut down.

30-day clock for Seranthony, so they will need to make up their mind on him by the beginning of September (when the roster expands to 28). Assume they could just shut him down if he was not ready and delay any 40-man move till the offseason.

I reckon his return had to play at least a small part in their deadline/Suarez calculations. Though it's hard to know what kind of effectiveness to expect.

Low-A Clearwater is placing 14 players on the injured list today, including top Phillies prospect Mick Abel. (Subsequently, 16 were added from the FCL.)

The Threshers have had four straight games canceled or postponed due to COVID, including tonight's contest against Bradenton.

94-97 mph, a little rusty but threw free and easy occasionally showing the old life he had on his fastball. Very encouraging.
