He is one of several pitchers we added that also had really high spin rates on their breaking balls and other pitches. In this vein spin rate is kind of like a tool with movement on pitches being the result of that tool. The hope is our new development regime can add refinement to these pitchers with pretty good raw stuff. Definitely a different approach than the Cole Irvins and Colton Eastmans we used to pick in the middle of the top 10.

I have sort of thought that it would not be the worst thing (other than starting his service clock) to just call Stott up. He is better than Didi now I think. Galvis too (remember he can't run full out yet either).

Sometimes young legs that don't know they are supposed to be overwhelmed can help on a short term basis. Stott is not great. But he is not awful either (like Didi has been lately).

Same here. Aside from his service clock, I also weighed ruining his current minor league mojo against how much Joe would cede to playing him over veterans Didi and Galvis.
