Random note - I had no idea that Minor League seasons run all the way until 9/19. We still have 3+ weeks left of this.

They started in May, so they wanted to get close to the normal number of games. Plus the 6 games a week is a slower pace than in the past. I imagine they will lose some crowds in September, but there is some logic to getting the minor league season a little closer to the major league calendar.

Yeah this is also why they don't need to bring up position players to MLB as the 27th or 28th guys. They aren't really needed, and they can play for almost three more weeks.
