My parents went to the game. Just looking at the box score Abel looks to have had a solid debut.

The camera angle is a little different at Reading as compared to Lakewood, but it seemed to me that he added some serious biite to his curveball. Maybe he just had a good feel for it tonight, but he's usually more slider than curve, but most of his breaking balls looked like curves tonight.

does anyone's stats, in the Phils minor league's single A teams, match up with Logan Cerny? Maybe the Phils scouting and drafting department know what they are doing. things are looking up.

His numbers look good. Hopefully not another Mead, but Stubbs has been good for us. I have not seen Fayetteville play this year. I vaguely remember he was considered a sleeper when we drafted him.

Cerny is age 22 (23 soon) in A ball. A college player such as Cerny should be putting up numbers in the low minors. The 110 Ks in 372 PAs is a sign AA and AAA will be a big challenge. By comparison, Mead is 21 in AAA and off to a good start there.

I did not see his strikeout numbers and I don’t think he will be another Mead, but still wary due to that trade. I am happy to see any Phillies draft pick do well, even for other teams. I want our draft people selecting good picks!
