Jersey Shore’s Jean Cabrera lifted after he called for the trainer following a 4-pitch walk to lead off the sixth inning. Trainer appeared to be checking his non-throwing arm, and he seemed fine after a couple warm-up throws

Should have 2 SBs. Called out on his 2nd attempt but was clearly safe.

I just watched lefty Danny Wilkinson strike out 3 batters in his first appearance. I looked him up and he averaged almost 17 Ks per 9 innings last year at Clearwater. Of course he averaged almost a walk per inning as well. The radar on TV was not working so I couldn't see how hard he was throwing. Curve looked nice though.

The minors are fun.

Today was the professional debut of Charles King, a 26 year old lefty. He graduated from TCU 3 years ago and went to work for the Padres as a biomechanical analyst. Got the itch a year ago and started working out at Driveline and got his FB up to 97 and the Phillies signed him.

He came in today with the bases loaded and one out in the 8th with the winning run at the plate. Navigated some trouble and recorded a five out save as the Blue Claws won 7-6.

He's probably never making the majors but that's got to make a great memory for him!

9 up and 9 down with 7 Ks for Klassen now through 3.

So far lots of 98 at the knees and a low slider at 90-91. Pounding the zone.

Just almost hit 100 on last batter.

For a guy with a history of command issues he’s throwing strikes with particularly good command of a 91 mph slider. It almost looks effortless except for a slight head wack or something in his finish. His fastball looks like it probably doesn’t have great metrics except that it looked a little more lively when it was up.

The 30 minute top half of the inning did not slow him down. 12 up, 12 down. 9 Ks through 4.

Loses the no-no in the 5th by giving up a double to straightaway center on a 96 FB right down the middle, but comes back to get the next 3 batters. No Ks, velo down a tic as he only hit 97 once.

He's at 67 pitches so I would guess he's done.
