Escobar has been a name generating buzz dating back to the early days of spring training. So far, he’s done nothing to dull that chatter, as he’s pulverized Florida State League pitching to the tune of a .386/.500/.684 line with nine extra base hits and 39 total bases. Escobar has continually shown an ability to catch the barrel at optimal angles, allowing him to do damage against a variety of pitches. It’s an advanced hit tool with feel for the strike zone and pullside power. Escobar is undersized and not the sleekest defender, but he’s a high-energy player who has enough hands and actions to stick at second. So far, the 20-year-old Escobar is surging alongside other top young infielders across minor league leaderboards.

Not any time soon probably, he's only been a reliever for a few days. They gotta see if the stuff plays and how he handles the role.

The Phillies also don't really have any moves they can make, much as people think they want to just cut some of these guys. So long as Sanchez is okay Hernandez will lose his spot to Ranger and Walker will be in the bullpen. Unless they want to send Kerkering or Banks to AAA or DFA Ruiz that's all they got, and there's no reason to think anyone in Allentown would actually be better than Ruiz just yet (though he could certainly be DFAed at some point).

Agreed. I was working today so didn't get a chance to listen to the game but I did listen a little to the postgame show and Franzke and Stocker were talking about the Phillies' current lack of "energy." They basically debated whether or not the energy comes once you start hitting well or whether or not you create the energy before you start hitting well. Either way, they said the guys are frustrated, disappointed, and working hard to try and improve but that the club needed more energy one way or another and could only name two players who who bring it naturally to the field, Marsh and Sosa, neither of whom are starters. Just pointing out that they both agree that the team needs more life.

Who was the tram that wanted to pay Turner $360 million instead of our $300? Think they still want him? Lol
