Wild assertion...the player most likely to take over in RF for Nick Castellanos when we finally give up on Nick is Gabriel Rincones.

Last year really wasn't that bad for him when you normalize the Jersey Shore stats for the park. He was relatively inexperienced for a high college pick too. His BB/K ratios are improved with the jump to AA too which sometimes does not accompany the increase in power from the smaller park, so that is good.

Our outfield really does need another left-handed option out there even if Nick gets back to close to where he was last season.

Steve Potter replied to a question and said that Miller has a jammed foot and is day-to-day. (for those who are worried, like me).

Also, N Pouaka-Grego, after a 3/4 night, is now hitting .300, which is the highest BA on the team I believe (after Miller).

Walton has been missing for a while too, though unlike Miller, he seems to formally be on the IL on the 7 day.

Reading currently has the #1 and #3 OPS guy in the Eastern League (Carson Taylor, Gabriel Rincones)

Taylor was a minor league rule 5 acquisition from the Dodgers. 4th round pick that had stalled in AA for them that we presumably added for catching depth, not offense. Maybe he just got caught in a numbers game in a deep LA system and there is a little more there. He has not caught this year though. Not sure he has enough offense for 1B.

He does if he keeps this up! I love seeing an underdog kind of prospect go on a hot streak or just improve. He is young enough that it may be real improvement... Maybe the Dodgers just concluded his defense wasn't enough to catch and moved on, and the Phils saw offensive potential.
