Baseball America makes note of McGarry not yielding a hit to any of 27 batters over 2 starts:
Griff McGarry, RHP, Phillies: In an early-season oddity, McGarry has faced 27 batters this season without allowing a hit in his two starts for Double-A Reading. In doing so, he has thrown what is colloquially known as a "hidden no-hitter." Naturally, McGarry leads the minor leagues with an opponent average of .000. The 25-year-old has totaled eight innings this season while allowing three walks and striking out 13 batters. The early results have been eye-opening.

They have him playing 2B also which is the one place he'll probably almost never play with Stott and Sosa on the roster. I'd stick him in LF full time in anticipation of lots of playing time there. I am guessing he'll rotate everywhere for a week or two (there is a 20-day rehab clock) but outfield seems to be the position of need on the big club now. 2B in his second plate appearance.

How's Oscar Mercado doing?

768 OPS. Hitting .279 with 7 BBs but only 1 HR. I guess he would have to be considered if Marsh ever got sent down because he can play some CF, but not sure he is a good part of an offensive platoon in LF. The Marsh article today in the Athletic really went over the options as if we really don't have any Marsh alternatives yet with both Crawford and Rincones not ready (and Rincones being strictly a corner OF platoon).

Yeah. He's redundant with Rojas especially if that only gets you .650 in MLB.

Even though Marsh is the one hitting extra-poorly, his struggles are really highlighting the oddity of the Kepler signing, as well as the game of musical chairs defensively.

IPs showing how to be a dominant offensive team this AM in Gwinnett. Lots of hits. Leading by 5 runs, and their pitching hasn't had a scoreless inning yet (through 4 IP).

Chace pulled after 2 1/3 innings for pitch count. 4K, 2 r including a homer by Francisco Alvarez on a sweeper down the middle. His fastball looked lively, threw some really good changeups, and didn’t have a feel for his breaking ball at all. Promising start though.

Escobar could be something special.

Very encouraging performance in the early going.

I’d like to see Miller draw some walks and get his average up to a respectable level.

Guy under the radar is Nava, was a touted prospect a couple years ago, struggled, but is still only 23.

Miller's homer was to the opposite field. Kid definitely has some power.

Best offensive night in the minors that I can remember. All 4 teams with double digit runs.

So its a good time to do a stat check for league leaders

Aroon Escobar - 5th in FSL OPS
Eduardo Tait - 12th in FSL OPS

Not sure Nava is that much of a prospect any more. Offense-first catcher without much power. He just does not project into much of a role and probably has been bypassed by the half dozen younger catchers coming up behind him.

Escobar on the other hand does look like he is one of our better offensive prospects. Hoping he can find a stable defensive home and stay healthy.
