GALVIS INJURY UPDATE
Infielder/outfielder Freddy Galvis sustained a fractured left clavicle during Sunday’s game at Lehigh Valley, Senior Vice President and General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. announced today. His recovery timetable has yet to be determined.
Galvis began the season on the 15-day disabled list after suffering a MRSA infection in spring training. The 24-year-old was activated on April 11 and batted .048 in 16 games for the Phillies before being optioned to Lehigh Valley following last Thursday’s contest in Toronto. He appeared in only two games with the IronPigs before sustaining the injury yesterday in a collision with third baseman Maikel Franco.
