Multiple heavy hitters in the Phillies org have gone to see Bohm, Madrigal, and South Alabama CF Travis Swaggerty, according to sources, and this pick likely comes down to one of those players. Our best intel is that they club ranks those three as follows: Bohm, Madrigal, Swaggerty. Not every source agrees about that, though, and it’s unlikely the Phillies have made a call on it yet. Due to their spring-training home, the Phillies had GM Matt Klentak and multiple high-level scouts in to see South Florida LHP Shane McClanahan and Stetson RHP Logan Gilbert in March, but they don’t appear to be real options here.

Yeah, Mize and Bohm are the two players I really like, and they go ahead of us in the mock. Figures... we'll draft a Cornelius Randolph clone...

I like Swaggerty, but his comp is probably Adam Haseley with better speed and a cleaner hitting approach.

All things being equal, Madrigal is the better player, and if i'm going to hold his diminutive size and the abundance of second basemen in the system against him, i might well do the same for Swaggerty (5-10, 180 lbs) and the number of first round pick outfielders we already have with a similar profile.

Sweet baby Jesus, please don't let this pick come down to deciding between those two.

If Mize and Bohm are gone, I'd probably go Kelenic or Singer next.

I view him as a Nola-type. He's just the next guy in line that I have the most confidence in. Unless Gorman or Liberatore bust loose before the draft. Though I do really like high school righty Carter Stewart- maybe even enough for #3.

1. If Mize-Bohm go 1-2 I'd probably go Liberatore if Holland approves.
2. Otherwise, I think I'd take Madrigal over Swaggerty.
3. I'd take Bart over Swaggerty.
4. Madrigal v. Bart is a tough call for me.
5. Singer on a discount sounds good too.
6. Hope things shake out in our favor in the next 6 weeks

Singer’s game against Kentucky was on tv- 91-94 mph through the 6th, and threw a lot of changeups. I don’t think I saw him throw any changeups in a the few starts I’ve seen in years past. Fast tempo, good command- very Nola-esque.

I’ve also been watching Bohm a bit the last few weeks. You can see the tools, but it seems to be that he had a wicked hot streak in the first third of the season that got his name on the map. While he hasn’t slumped after that, he also hasn’t (at least regularly) looked like the best player on the field. Unless he gets hot again, I think there is a very reasoble chance he makes it to the third pick.

I don't think Bohm is going 1 or 2. Fangraphs didn't have a good handle on the #2 pick other than that it would not be Madrigal (who is supposed to play this weekend I think).

I'd take that. It may just be prospect fatigue to not be more excited about Liberatore because his stuff didn't take a big leap this spring, but I need to remind myself he was already really good.

Depends on the day- junior second baseman Luke Ritter has been rocketing the ball around the field recently. Other times it’s junior 1b Grayson Jenista.
