Important dates in the Winter 2017-2018 Hot Stove League calendar.

November 2, 2017, 9 am Eastern time: Eligible players become Free Agents, "Quiet Period" begins.
November 2 to 6, 2017: "Quiet Period" Former clubs of Free Agents may tender "Qualifying Offers."
November 6, 2017, 5 pm Eastern time: All players on 60-day Disabled List must be reinstated to the 40-man roster.
November 6, 2017, 5 pm Eastern time: Last date for clubs to exercise options in player contracts
November 6, 2017, 5 pm Eastern time: Minor League Uniform Player Contracts expire. Eligible minor leaguers become free agents.
November 6, 2017, 5 pm Eastern time: "Quiet Period" ends, Free Agents may sign with any club.
November 13-16, 2017: General Managers' meetings, Orlando FL
November 16, 2017, 5 pm Eastern time: Last date for Free Agents to accept Qualifying Offers
November 20, 2017, 8 pm Eastern time: Major and Minor (all levels) Reserve Lists set
December 1, 2017: Tender Deadline - last date to offer 2018 contracts to unsigned players
December 7, 2017: Last date to request outright waivers to assign player before Rule 5 draft
December 10-14, 2017: Winter Meetings, Orlando FL
December 11, 2017, 5 pm: Last date to outright a player before Rule 5 draft
December 14, 2017: Rule 5 Draft
January 12, 2018: Exchange of salary arbitration figures
February 1-20, 2018: Arbitration hearings

February 14, 2018: Voluntary Reporting Day for Pitchers and Catchers - the First Day of Spring!
March 29, 2018: Opening Day!

I was checking for the date that rosters have to be set for the rule 5 draft and had trouble (well really not too much) finding this thread. I had expected pinned threads to be at the top of the topics list, not mixed in with the normal topics.

... and so it should. The topic is pinned globally; this means it should stay at the top - both in the "latest" listing on the home page (www.philliesphans.com), and at the top of the Renegades forum page (www.philliesphans.com/c/renegade-phan-phorum). If it does not...well, I can't say for sure, but the most likely explanation is that you have unpinned it (intentionally or otherwise).

At the bottom of the thread, below the toolbar that lets you bookmark, share, flag, reply, there's a toggle button that lets you pin and unpin threads that are globally pinned. By default, the board is set to NOT unpin such topics automatically (the alternative is to have pinned topics automatically unpin for a user when they've read the whole thread), but the toggle button lets users override that, if they don't want to keep seeing a pinned thread at the top of pages.

Also - a user can pin/unpin the topic (for themselves - not for other users) by clicking the pushpin icon in the thread title - this works if you're in the thread, or when you're on the Renegades forum page - it doesn't work that way if you're on the home page.

Sure enough, I see that at the bottom of this thread, it says it is unpinned. I have reset it to globally pinned. I'm not sure how it got unpinned but at least now I know to look at this feature in the future. Thanks for the reply. I expect to be looking at the key dates in the coming weeks.

See my additional note in my post above - I suspect you probably clicked on the pushpin icon when you were trying to enter the thread at some point. It's easy enough to do...
