No. My suspicion is that the Pacific time zone is the default for Twitter, and that the code that generates the pretty box on our board (it's called "onebox" code) isn't making any adjustment for the different time zone.

To me, releasing Julio Francisco is a surprise. Making room for the draftees, I guess.

Great for Glogoski. Thats a quick rise from GCL last year, and also from being a New Zealand player with limited experience vs. high level competition before being drafted. Lakewood gun has his FB 88-90, he probably needs to add a mph or two as he moves up. His FB really moves, though.

Bohm's performance will dictate the pace of his advancement. But it would almost certainly be a mistake to rush him up here by September and I still don't see it happening. In fact, I kind of hope it doesn't happen. He shouldn't be brought up here to be the savior on a team with guys like Harper, Hoskins and Realmuto. Even Kris Bryant--who was a far better prospect than Bohm--was drafted in 2013 and debuted in early 2015, two years after he was drafted.

Realistically, Bohm might be able to help by the All Star break next year.

As you said, it's his performance that will/should drive his movement. If he forces his way to Philadelphia later this season...great. But he should only be here if he truly forces the issue - for 40-man roster management in the coming off-season, if for no other reason. But if he forces it... well, fine.

If Bohm and Haseley are both playing regularly in September that's probably gonna be because the team is out of it, not because they wound up being miraculous infusions of youth and talent. It would be a little crazy for service time reasons but they could also do the usual thing (give him a taste and don't call him up for real until next May).

If the team is truly out of it the 40 would probably be a little less crowded too (some relievers and bench guys gone).

Hasely is the guy to fill that role. Ideally, Quinn starts in CF and Hasely would be the starting LF with Bruce being the LH bat off of the bench most of the time. If Quinn goes down, Hasely goes to CF and Bruce full time in left. Bruce's legs aren't getting any younger. He's going to need time off of the field. That's not the best situation but what it may be. Losing McCutcheon was a devastating blow. Without that happening, things wouldn't be in the straits that they are.

Drifting off-topic but if this team is going for it Halsely was probably not the answer, and Quinn might not be either. Four weeks from now they could both be guys with .600 OPS, if they are even both healthy. Maybe we've got a little more time to see what Halsely can bring, but not much more. The case for a pre-All Star break acquisition gets stronger if they look as bad on July 4 as they do now.

You give up on this season and I'm not sure you even keep Bruce, though he's certainly a nice bench piece for next year.

EDIT: Bocio, at least, was transferred from Williamsport to XST a few days ago. Could be wrong, but my guess is that since milb.com doesn't maintain an XST roster, they'll probably NEVER notice/report the Bocio release - nor quite possibly the Asencio one.

In addition, the mlb.com transactions page shows the Phillies signing SS Kervin Pichardo to a minor league contract today. Pichardo was previously listed as an IFA signing, last July 2nd - but it seems he was born in the Bronx, so evidently his signing at age 16 was a no-go, and he had to be signed to a UDFA contract?

Looks like you're right, Andy. I'm looking at the MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL’S JOINT DRUG PREVENTION AND TREATMENT PROGRAM - assuming that this document applies to MiLB players. From Section 7 - Discipline . . . "First offense involving a Stimulant, DHEA, or a Drug of Abuse: At least a 25-game but not more than a 50-game suspension", while a first violation for PEDS is 80 days.
