But it's Eaton vs the Big Unit. But Eaton's lousy ERA is a bit less lousy than Johnson's coming in.

Phils lose and Charlie says he's thinking Jayson Werth over Shane Victorino in center is the new plan, despite Werth scuffling in the last coupla games when he's been playing even vs righties.

Phils look to avoid their first 3 game losing streak in 2008 as they pay their first visit to the brand spanking new Nationals Park. And Werth isn't starting in center.

Looking through this thread, it looks like we are down to only three 2008 Phillies left in MLB--Utley, Hamels & Happ--with Werth struggling to make it back with Tacoma.

I didn't realize that Ruiz, Blanton and Kendrick were all in that nebulous not retired/not under contract with anyone territory.

Rollins and Victorino haven't formally announced their retirements but pretty much conceded that they are done in various comments here and there.

By contrast, the 1980 Phillies still had Boone, L. Smith, Virgil (September recall), Walk, Noles and M. Davis with their careers still alive and kicking in 1990.
