Two straight losses to the Mets and the Phils "are lost". Looking to salvage the finale. Hoping for some Adam Eaton magic. On the bright side, we're one game ahead of last year's division winning pace at 8-10.

On the not so bright side, Jimmy Rollins (and Chris Snelling) headed to the DL. Brad Harman and TJ Bohn get a chance to be members of the 08 Phils
squad.

Pat Burrell has been huge so far in '08, delivering another win to salvage the split in Milwaukee. And Jayson Werth has played well enough that people are talking about him as a full time starter instead of a platoon guy.

Gabe Kapler had an 0-fer.

3 in Pittsburgh next.

Led by Coste, and Werth, Phils take the opener in Pittsburgh. Brad Harman got his first major league hit*, an RBI double.

Also, NFL draft is today. Chris Long is the #2 pick, local QBs Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are picked in the first. The Eagles traded down out of the first round. They took Trevor Laws and DeSean Jackson in the 2nd round.

Ryan Howard returned to the lineup and got the fun started with a 2 run homer as the Phils take their 3rd straight to move a half game back of front-running Florida. Going for the sweep (!) in Pittsburgh today.

In the 3rd round of the NFL draft, Eagles took Mike McGlynn and Quinton Demps. Wonder if either of them will stick around for about 10 years.

No sweep, people talking about Brett Myers and if he's really going to contribute as a starter again after experiencing the highs of being a closer last year.

Off day. At 14-12 and two games left in the month, the Phils will not have one of their seeming traditional losing Aprils in 2008.

It was announced that Mike Lieberthal will retire as a Phillie later in the summer.

Shane Victorino is healthy and back. A poster here is predicting he's 2008's Wally Pipp with Werth playing so well, and he's not in the starting lineup as Phils face Greg Maddux and the Padres, we've got our version of an ace going. TJ Bohn and his .333 average sent down.

Things looked grim when the Giants took the lead in the 10th inning last night, but Pat the Bat delivered the game winning blast.. Great HK call there.

Chase Utley was named NL Player of the Month for April after hitting .360 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 23 RBI and 25 runs scored.

And former Phil Julio Franco retires, finally.
