If you have attempted to use the "I forgot my password" function on the login screen, but haven’t been able to gain access, we have the following suggestios;:
You should have received an email from the board (received from discourse@philliesphans.com) with a link to a page that would allow you to update/reset your password, and gain full access to the board.
If you did NOT receive that email, it may have gone to a junk mail/spam folder. A couple of possible solutions:
First, check the junk/spam folders that may be provided by your email provider. Note that if your email provider allows you to check email on their web page, you should check there (on their web page), even if you typically read your email using a client like Outlook or Apple's Mail program. The provider’s junk mail folder may not be showing up in your client. You should also check any junk/spam folders provided by your client program.
Second, you may want to add Philliesphans (the “from” email address is discourse@philliesphans.com) to your email contacts. Many email providers automatically “whitelist” addresses in your contacts, and email from those addresses is not seen as spam, regardless of content.
Third – Is it possible that the email address you have registered at Philliesphans is no longer active, or do you no longer have access to that account (old work account, for example). If this is the case (or if you're having other problems and can't find the board’s email), let us know (send me an email at philliesphans@gmail.com - NOT at the “from” address listed above), and we'll see what we can do to get your access restored; we can update your email address, for starters.
Maintaining your email address as registered on the board is important. This board periodically sends emails to registered users - how many, and how frequently, depends on what you have set in your preferences.
(To see your preferences, select the sprocket icon that's on the dropdown menu under your avatar (or big colored circle with a letter in it, if you have no avatar!) in the upper right.)
Unlike our old board, if the board sends you several emails, and they bounce (bad email adddress, mailbox is full, etc.), the board will automatically take actions:
it will stop sending at least some emails;
if there are too many bounces, it will decide your address is bogus/inactive, and it will INACTIVATE YOUR PHILLIESPHANS ACCOUNT. We don't want that to happen.
So please, don't use bogus, or temporary email accounts to register here, and keep your email account up to date. Your email address is private - other users cannot see it or access it. And no, we're not going to sell a list to anybody!
