Quinn would have pinch-run and been a defensive replacement. With Kingery you could PR him in the 5th or 6th and then he'd also get ABs. In any case, Kingery and Florimon can both play 7 positions, Quinn wasn't gonna be able to play the other three IF spots really.
If you're willing allow for the possiblity that Santana can emergency catch, and Kingery and Florimon (and Hernandez and Franco and Hoskins) can all play 1B, no reason not to PH the back-up catcher occasionally. Though it's also nice when the back-up catcher isn't your best option (i.e. they are probably better than Florimon, but last year they were better than Blanco, Florimon, Kelly and Saunders).
