Ironically if the fans could have actually seen Joe's intense attitude he might not have been on such a hot seat. I think it was pretty obvious how he handled the young talent though, and the team had his back (most notably with Bohm last year). Until it didn't.
Y'know, Dombrowski brought in Schwarber and Castellanos because of their track record on winning teams and their atttitude/leadership, respectively. They and the relief pitchers are the only new people in the clubhouse and also the group that was struggling.
Dombrowski isn't going anywhere but he's only on a four-year deal. He is going to hire the next manager and they may as well give him at least a one-year extension if he'll take it (it doesn't seem like he has a Nashville job to go back to that soon even if he can get involved again). Put them on the same timeline; you also can't have him giving out five-year deals and making major trades heading into the 2024 season if you don't know who's even running the team in 2025.
