Yup, I try not to be ageist (I'm no spring chicken myself) but seems like another guy the game has passed by from an organization that specializes in them (yes, he won something pretty recently but only on the back of a previous regime's good work, which is obviously not an option here).
Also he sort of reminds me of Ed Wade.
Thomson seems fine though. The cards he has are the cards he has, hopefully he'll work better with the younger players and doesn't feel too much pressure to try and keep the job. I mean, his mandate is still to make the playoffs and if he does that he'll have a shot at keeping the job. If they stop seeing that as the goal he can switch gears and try to keep the job by being a good development manager.
