Some of the qualities that made him a bad GM serve him perfectly fine on TV. But he's not un-insightful. Definitely my favorite of them.

A great start of the four-game series in Miami.

Suarez with the win (12-6) and gets his ERA back under 3. Four good innings from the bullpen. Better fielding and they might have combined on a shutout.

Two RBIs each for Stott and Clemens. Clemens continues to contribute and a hot Stott sure would be a big boost.

Still a little concerned with Ranger and his velocity. It really feels like something is still going on there (back). Marlins were not good enough to take advantage, but I'd tread carefully on his forthcoming outings.

Hayes doesn't worry me with Wilson and Clemons looking like they belong (unlike Dahl, who blew a great opportunity to win a job).

Rojas is puzzling, he's got a quick bat, he's added strength, but he looks like he has no clue what he's doing at the plate. And he still hasn't learned how to bunt.

Hays (not a hard name to spell...) is better than Wilson or Clemens in the OF. Defensively and at least offensively against LHP. There is a reason we got him. Bigger question with him is whether there is an advantage with Rojas' defense in the lineup against RHP.

Well maybe you get Sept/Oct 2021 Ranger who averaged 6.5 innings/start with a 1.15 ERA and a 0.923 WHIP.

FWIW, the radio guys last night were surprised that Rojas got thrown out on his bunt attempt. They said it was a good bunt, and gave a lot of credit to the third baseman for throwing him out.

He's blown a lot of bunt opportunities the last couple months, it should be a deadly weapon for him.
But the real issue is I don't ever feel he has a "plan" when he goes to the plate.
He's still young, but you'd like to see improvement.

Yeah. I mean, bunting at the major league level is easy. There's really no excuse for a bunt attempt to ever be anything less than perfect. It's like riding a bike; anybody who really tries can easily master the skill. Duh.

Not this year. Hays hasn't done squat since we acquired him. Now the kidney. Next year we may see a better player, if they want to pay him.
