Sorry to be blunt, but this is just silly. You cannot assume that the Phillies could just outbid everybody for anybody they want, or that a given player would - of course! - come to Philadelphis just because the Phillies offered - or even just because the Phillies offered "more" than somebody else.
This idea that baseball players inevitably opt for the "best offer," regardless of any other considerations, isn't just wrong, it's dehumanizing. It assumes that all baseball players are have the same motivations - and that those motivations are pretty base, to be frank. It commoditizes them.
Add to that, you misspelled the guy's name. But if he's just a commodity, not a human being, I suppose that doesn't matter.
