I don't think they were never gonna use Jose back-to-back but this is the first time since he came off IL I think. Of course the other night he was pitching the same way and that wasn't the reason.

It's a mysterious thing, the mind, the body and the arm. The story in the paper made it sound so easy (just trust the cutter!).

Not sure if it was mentioned but he did save a run from scoring against Kimbrel in the 8th.

Throw to third on the stolen base went past Sosa and hit the ump, falling to the ground by third base. If the throw goes down the line, one run scores and maybe even the second run scores.

Would not be surprised to see an Iron Pig catching an early flight tomorrow.

We talk about "chasing" a lot but deception is as important as anything. When an Alvarado or a Neris or a Lidge is executing properly their best pitch it almost always going to be a ball, and people are going to swing at it anyway. And if they sit on it, the second-best pitch comes and it's a called strike. For sure, our guys are ragged and not executing properly. This was certainly not a game where they should have been needed.

If not for the doubleheader Monday this would be the week to move Sanchez to the bullpen. He's already been pushed from Wednesday to Friday because Wheeler prefers pitching on regular rest. In theory he could go an inning tomorrow instead of throwing on the side.
