Haha very clunky. What I was trying to say is the Phillies already have a playoff spot in the bag. The only pressure is to retain the top seed, and even that is not necessarily an overwhelming task. They are going to lose some of these road games, and probably to the Braves, and they still won't lose ground so long as they play their usual .550 ball unless one of the other teams goes on an extraordinary run. It would be nice to clinch with a week left, but Thomson does not have to manage like it's already the playoffs to achieve that, and if this winds up being a 2-4 road trip instead of 3-3 it's not the end of the world so long as they get back on track at home (and then they have a chance to at least win a road series in St. Louis).
